Stocks started the week on a tentative note after Friday’s big surge. The economic news was a bit mixed, in that Personal Incomes rose 0.2% in July, shy of the expectations for a gain of 0.3%. June was unchanged. Personal Spending, on the other hand, rose 0.4%, a touch better than the 0.3% anticipated. Again, there was no change in June.
