The industrials were for sale yesterday on back of some disappointing Philadelphia fed data. Look for more volatility in the fertilizers as investors try and speculate who else BHP may be interested in. Keep your eye on the miners and coals today in front of the Australian polls which are scheduled for Saturday. A victory for the opposition (the Liberal-National Coalition) could be a big positive for the miners since they have said they will do away with the gov’t mining tax plan. If the opposition loses there could be further downside for the smaller miners since they were not part of the subsequent compromise tax plan arranged between the prime minister and the larger players.
