Message from the Editor
I would like to take a moment to mention the people we have lost that have made important contributions to the Morning News over the last 5 years. I was going to list all of their names and then realized the list would be almost as long as the list of missing. You see, the Morning News IS Cantor Fitzgerald, and everybody contributed to it because we are all part of a team. The success of the firm, the individual employees and the paper are all intertwined.
Please forgive me here. I am not an eloquent writer, but I do report the facts. I want people to know that like any family we had fun; we had sorrow; we had celebrations; we had disagreements; we had fights; and we had reconciliation. These special people, whether they were a trainee or a seasoned salesman, a secretary or a trader, an order clerk or a managing director all came together every day and did what it takes to make Cantor Fitzgerald, eSpeed and Tradespark the success they are.
And although the future will be difficult without them, we celebrate their lives and we will work even harder to ensure that the financial futures of their families, which are still intertwined with ours, are as secure as possible.
