The big picture is that the June/July jobs report was disappointing. The revisions to June were just as negative as the misses for July. The June jobs number was knocked down to -221,000 from -125,000. That downward revision of nearly 100,000 jobs was due to the government revising down 42,000 more jobs and the rest coming from the private sector.
